AMACS Premises Inauguration – Saturday, 11th June 2011

The new AMACS premises at Tigne’ Point was officially inaugurated on Saturday 11th June by Parliamentary Secretary Jason Azzopardi on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Association?s foundation in 1985. ?AMACS President Stephen Petroni thanked the Hon. Jason Azzopardi and the Commissioner of Lands Mr. Albert Mamo for making possible the Association?s home-coming to Tigne? after an absence of fourteen years. Mr. Petroni announced plans to utilise the 600 square meter facilities for social, educational and sports purposes.

Also present were the Hon. Chris Agius (PL), Malta Sports Council (KMS) CEO Mr. Alex Grima and MIDI Marketing Executive Ms Erminia Parfitt and the President of AACTS Dr. Neville Montanaro Gauci, Vice President Mr Malcolm Bonnici and Secretary Mr Rennie Stivala.

During this special occasion, ?it was announced that ACCTS and AMACS had jointly set up a Federation to cover all forms of target shooting sports other than clay pigeon shooting sports. The FEDERATION of MALTESE TARGET SHOOTERS ?(FMTS) represents over one thousand members and over 90% of licensed target shooters, making it the largest target shooting body in Malta. The objectives of FMTS are complimentary to those of the existing Malta Sports Shooting Federation (MSSF) which is focused on clay pigeon shooting sports and which has achieved excellent results internationally.
