NEW ARMS REGULATIONS TO COME INTO FORCE ON 1ST MARCH

The recent changes to the Arms Act and Arms Licensing Regulations in order to transpose the EU Directive into national law shall come into effect on 1st March. The Legal Notice has just been published.

Malta’s transposition is to be considered as the most sensible exercise undertaken by an EU country, thanks to the level of collaboration existing between the authorities and our Federation. Bona-fide collectors and short shooters will be practically unaffected as a result of the newly-introduced Special licences. This is a major achievement and members are reminded of their huge responsibility towards the community as a whole in upholding the law and ensuring that that follow our instructions.

AMACS has been constantly offering its guidance on how our members should regularise themselves in accordance with these new regulations and will continue to do so.
